Wheat Biryani (Veggie)
Yes.... I have typed it correctly. Today my dish is Wheat Biryani. I am a big fan of wheat. I was so bored of eating the same old upma prepared with Cracked Wheat. So I started of thinking new ways of consuming wheat.
In my previous post you have seen " Wheat Pongal ".. Hmm it came out very well. I tried pushing my thoughts and came with Wheat Biryani. It's same as Rice Biryani but you replace Wheat with Rice. It takes less time to cook. Here is my recipe for Wheat Biryani... 1 Cup cracked Wheat 1 Cup Mixed Veggie's (Potato, Capsicum, Carrot, Cauliflower) 3 Tbs of Peas Salt for taste Masala 1 Bay Leaf 2 Cardamons 2 Small pieces of Cinnamon Sticks 2 Tbs of Coriander 1 Garlic pods Small piece of Ginger 1 Green chilli 3 Tbs of grated coconut 1. Grind Garlic,Ginger, Green chilli, 1 cardamon, coriander , 1 Piece of cinnamon stick and Coconut. Make it as a smooth paste. I wanted to separate all the ingredients by half grinding and by half cooking directly. It gives a lot of flavor. 2. Now Heat Pan with 3 tbs of butter. 3.Add bay leaf, 1 cardamons , 1 Piece cinnamon stick and fry them till the aroma comes. 4. Add all vegetables to the pan and saute them till they are half cooked. 5. Add the Masala paste to the pan and cook it for few seconds so that the raw smell vanishes from the paste. 6. Add the whole mixture to the Cracked Wheat and cook it till it is done. 7. Serve hot with Raita. * For 1 Cup of Cracked Wheat I have added 21/2 cups of water. related searches : Wheat
