Windy Wonderland
Yesterday, it was constant torrential rain, today, the temperature has dropped about 20 degrees and the wind is blowing so hard I can hear it from inside. Oh Mississippi, what am I gunna do with you? Took my second to last exam this morning bright and early at 8am! I was a little nervous, not because the exam would be difficult, but because the earliest class I?ve had in a year has been at 9am. Taking a test at 8am and drinking coffee at 8am are two different beasts. But all went well, I wrote my arm off for an hour and a half, then hit the road. Hooray! Instead of immediately studying for French, I decided to run a few quick errands as a break after my exam. Not before a little snack though: I wasn?t starving, because I ate a big bowl of oatmeal before my exam, but here?s a very important lesson I?ve learned lately regarding meals and snacks: You are not always eating for the immediate future. The goal is to sustain energy throughout the day, and sometimes that means having a quick snack even if you aren?t hungry at that moment. And no, today was not a ?cardio day? for me, but I also know that what I eat today WILL affect my workout tomorrow. Bottom line, if you aren?t fueling yourself properly and consistently, then you aren?t fueling yourself. **stepping off soapbox** Look at what I got!! I?m attending a I?m such a sucker for those adorable slice and bake cookies, the pictures on them are so cute! So after much French studying and break-taking this afternoon, I headed to the gym for some good ole strength training: I think from the crinkled up paper it?s safe to say I?m putting the new routine to good use. Which leads me to a question: How often do you switch up the actual moves in your strength training? Do you believe there to be a set amount of time before you need to switch things up? I probably switch things up at least every month or so. And that?s doing full body dumbbell moves 3 times per week. I feel like for me, being consistent in my routine helps me to see results, but sometimes I wonder if switching things up more would be more beneficial. Happy Hump Day! Posted in Uncategorized ![]()
