Saturday celebration was with LTS' maternal grandparents. Sunday was with their paternal grandparents and cousins. I didn't want to duplicate the same cake even though the "guests" were different. I was getting rather "tired" of making the same cake in two days. So I decided to try a new recipe from a library book I just borrowed - Cake Temptations and other desserts . I found that the[...]http://passionbaker.blogspot.com/2009/12/birt...

This month marks the first year anniversary of my blog. It is also my husband's birthday month. So, in celebration of FSK turning 1 and him turning 31, I baked my first ever special-event cake filled with chocolate-y richness with a hint of coffee in the icing (to keep us all awake well past midnight! :) ) I had been planning this cake for a few weeks. You see, this was the first cake[...]http://forkspoonnknife.blogspot.com/2009/05/h...

I was not suppose to bake on the eve before leaving for my vacation, but at the eleventh hour I couldn't resist making something for my grandpa who was to celebrate his 88th birthday on the coming weekend. Like the old saying, it's the thought that counts. It was meant to be the white and dark chocolate mousse cake. As I was working thru the ingredients, no surprise to see that the[...]http://happycup.blogspot.com/2009/10/grandpas...

A friends son’s 11th birthday was coming and I hadn’t made a novelty cake in ages so I asked if I could make one for his birthday. He is football mad, or soccer as they say in New Zealand, and the request was a football cake. I didn’t think it would be too hard to make as I could use two pudding bowls and just shape them a little to get the perfect ball. This bit was[...]http://peasepudding.wordpress.com/2009/08/01/...

Well it's that time of the year again. My Birthday. Since I am taking Cake Decorating Classes, it would be a shame if I celebrated my big day, with a store bought cake. So I present to you, the making of Dee's (that's me) birthday cake . The recipe? Pumpkin Spice Cake, with a Cream Cheese Icing. I used the pumpkin insides that I froze, when I was carving my jack-o-lanterns for[...]http://sweettoothfashionista.blogspot.com/201...

Happy Birthday Maz!!! My housemate and I made this Giant Cupcake, measuring 10cm x 15 cm, for our friend’s birthday. To celebrate, she declared March 4 as “Happy Cupcake Day!”, where friends were invited to bake or buy a cupcake and post a photo to her Facebook wall. Being a special occasion, we wanted to do something epic, and I think we pulled it off![...]http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Thecakemistres...
