A friend from Penang found himself stranded in KLCC & decided to call me for dinner. As usual, I asked 2 questions. Q1: What do you want to eat? And.. Q2: What's your budget? With these 2 prerequisite questions answered, I can safely say I have yet to fail being a good food host to all my friends who visited KL ;) Now, normally the answer to the 1st Q is the much dreaded "[...]http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Thenomadgourma...

I am a coffee-to-wake-up person, and drink an average of 3 cups of coffee daily. Without my morning fix, I am literally incapable of functioning at work. I blame this on Shum, who got me hooked on brewed coffee ever since we shared a room at work together. rif spotted dr.CAFE when he was there on a job, and took me there for our coffee session last weekend. Despite big cake brands like Secret Recipe and La Manila dominating the food industry, I noticed a steady growth of cake-shops-cum-cafes, often in upscale residential neighbourhoods. Most of these cake shops are inspired by French patisseries , especially the ones in Hartamas and Mon?t Kiara. Patisserie Rui, located at Mt Kiara Meridin is one of them. Simon Says: I'll be going for Arthur Kopit's Oh Dad, Poor Dad tomorrow night. Anyone joining me? I just remembered that I haven't post about Michaelangelo's after I read Hitomi's take on it . So, now here's my post. Let's start off with my favourite stout nowadays. Guiness Draught. Yummy. I've shown you these tools before. Our dining experience at Porto Romano was a pleasant one, and rif couldn't stop talking about it to his friends. After 3-4 days of eating the same dishes (it happens every reunion, 1st day and 2nd day of Chinese New Year) , we needed a change and went to Porto Romano for dinner. I?ve been eyeing on the smoked salmon and egg pizza (RM34) since my first visit, so no prize[...]http://bangsar-babe.blogspot.com/2010/02/port...

My first encounter with kim chi wasn?t a good one; I thought it looked awfully red, mushy and sloppy. That was more than 3 years ago, at a small Chinese supermarket in the UK. Then again, that supermarket didn?t exactly have the freshest items available. The kim chi was probably lying there for a while, like a few dusty cans of kaya (coconut jam) I saw on the shelf nearby. With the[...]http://bangsar-babe.blogspot.com/2009/11/bon-...

Many thanks to Alice George Communications, I was part of a fun & large group of bloggers for a night of scrumptious Croatian food and stellar company, barely 2 weeks after my virginal visit . It was a gathering of old and new friends I would say, having the opportunity to make new acquittances with some food bloggers and meeting up again with the usual suspects ie[...]http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Thenomadgourma...
