Half-an-hour across London. An hour-thirty on the Eurostar. Taxi from straight outside Gare de Lille Europe. One hour and ninety Euros later, having asked four times [...]http://foodsnobblog.wordpress.com/2009/06/25/...

That is the only word I can use to describe the weather the last 10 days! It has rained non stop, not a little bit of rain, but a steady soaking rain with a few heavy downfalls in between. If you dare step on the lawn, you sink knee deep in the mud and bog! Today I caved and replaced my dryer which blew up about 3 months ago. Wouldn't you know......I purchase it and the sun comes out! And[...]http://vegesveggiepatch.blogspot.com/2009/06/...

I was in my local shop the other day, picking up my prime rib for my New Years dinner and I saw something that sounded quite, quite fascinating. Christmas Pudding Sausages. I don't know why I hadn't noticed them before Christmas, but I hadn't . . . I brought home half a dozen of them, and then I thought . . . what the heck am I going to do with them???? What on earth would they go[...]http://theenglishkitchen.blogspot.com/2009/12...

I find cooking rice for sushi challenging: you need to buy proper sushi rice and then wash it several times in cold water, until the water runs clear. And then cook it by absorption. The doses are about 1 and 3/4 (three quarters) cups of sushi rice for 2 cups of water, but that depends on the type of pot. You need a pot with a good lid, or you will loose too much[...]http://alessandra-onlyrecipes.blogspot.com/20...

When I was 16 or 17 I remember going to the local pub for lunch with some friends. They made THE most awesome Diane Sauce there and I used to eat it slathered on potato chips. I don't think I've eaten much of it since, here and there but nothing very memorable. Recently I'd been feeling like it again so I browsed through all of Tami's posts on Seitan. Let me just say, Tami is a seitan[...]http://vegesveggiepatch.blogspot.com/2009/04/...

I'm in a food funk. I seem to be kind of unenthusiastic about food at the moment (don't you hate those times?). I'm not feeling very inspired to cook anything much and when I have, I've made a number of disasters and things I plain didn't like and even if I did like it I just feel kind of apathetic about food in general at the moment. I did promise disasters when I first started my blog so[...]http://vegesveggiepatch.blogspot.com/2009/03/...

I think Chicken Kievs have to be one of the most popular foods with children over here in the UK. The freezer section of most grocery stores are well stocked with little cartons of the same, and you can buy fresh and ready to cook versions as well. But how really tasty is a piece of ground up chicken that has been reformed around a dab of garlic flavoured fat (is it really butter?) and[...]http://theenglishkitchen.blogspot.com/2009/10...

No Daring Bakers’ post today! I’m sorry about that! I spent the whole month trying to locate the tubes because I am a perfectionist and I didn’t want to make the shaped cannoli. Because I live in the most isolated major city in the world , I couldn’t get a hold of them. Perth fail. The other reason I procrastinated from making them is the caloric content of the[...]http://bakingit.wordpress.com/2009/11/27/as-t...
