This week's TWD was chosen by Jessica of My Baking Heart : Parisian Apple Tartlet! Jessica must have known how much I love baked apple desserts. Truly - I'd probably choose apple pie or apple crisp over chocolate any day of the week! This week's recipe couldn't have been more simple. There were only 4 ingredients - apple, puff pastry, butter, and brown sugar. Given the simplicity of[...]http://traceysculinaryadventures.blogspot.com...

This week's Tuesdays with Dorie recipe has to be the simplest one to be chosen, at least since I joined in the fun! Puff pastry, apples, a little sugar and butter and you're done! I was a little bit disappointed in the puff pastry I bought. I got it at a local bakery but I think it had been in the freezer a bit too long because it didn't puff up quite as much as I had expected. And I[...]http://andthenidothedishes.blogspot.com/2009/...

It started with an invitation, scripted and embellished with a gold fleur-de-lis . "We'd love you (and the crew) to join us on the 23rd for drinks, 6ish. We're at........" My friend and fellow "stew" Nancy, is staying at a pied-à-terre with her husband, in Paris, and invited us for an appèritif . Of course, we accepted. The weather was sunny and temperate and seemed to be[...]http://www.2stews.com/2009/09/parisian-pied-t...

Sometimes there are recipes that seem really easy. A bit too easy, it might seem. Sometimes these recipes are really good. So good that you had no idea it was possible to make such a fabulous dessert out of four ingredients. But sometimes, these recipes are really bad, and you wonder how you could have been so stupid as to even attempt to make them. But then, there are the recipes[...]http://sophiasbaking.blogspot.com/2010/01/twd...

Here I am back in Paris visiting with my Mom. The wind is icy under a limpid sky and as I wrap her in soft woolens before stepping out (shawl, blanket, scarf, hat, gloves and mittens), I remember snowy winters long ago when she helped me bundle up my toddlers, neither of us suspecting that one day I'd be doing the same for her. Growing older makes it much easier to distinguish patterns and[...]http://www.farine-mc.com/2010/03/parisian-bak...

My apologies, this is a long post, with lots of photos! For such an easy recipe! lol. This week was such the easy recipe for us TWDers. Jessica of My Baking Heart chose Dorie's Parisian AppleTartlet, but I made it into peach. It was so easy I could tell you off the top of my head the ingredients...puff pastry, apple, brown sugar and butter. The first ingredient listed, is what[...]http://ldylvbgr.blogspot.com/2009/06/tuesdays...

I wasn't sure if I had time to make this recipe today, but Tania convinced me and I'm glad she did. It was just about the easiest Dorie recipe ever! All you do is cut out a circle of puff pastry, put 1/2 an apple on top, sprinkle with some brown sugar and butter, and stick it in the oven. I found myself asking, "is that really it?" Yes, yes it is. Blissfully simple. This[...]http://ovenlove.blogspot.com/2009/06/tuesdays...

Putting the pumpkin aside for now (I'm coming back to it, don't worry!) this week's Tasty Recipe Review comes to us from Elinor Klivans's book 125 Cookies to Bake, Nibble and Savor . I bought this book like a million years ago and have really only tried very few of her recipes, not sure why because they were very good. She has little anecdotes with all of her recipes which always make for[...]http://tasty-pastry.blogspot.com/2009/10/tast...
