D on't ask me why, but I find coming up with a snack for evening tea/ coffee the most challenging. That's the time when everyone is really hungry and whatever the accompaniment it has to go with coffee[...]Added 11/02/2009 04:41:00
These steamed cabbage rolls can be served as an appetizer or a snack, maybe even as a side accompanying a meal of stir-fry veggies and rice, sort of like Spring Rolls . The only thing I find difficult about making this dish is to get the outer leaves of the cabbage carefully so it is still whole and in one largish piece to be able to stuff and roll easily. The cabbage is steamed[...]http://delectable-victuals.blogspot.com/2009/...

I made this a while ago since I had some frozen grated cassava. My husband is not a big fan of sweet traditional snack, thus he just had one or two of them. I was the one who finished all up. I like the savory taste of the top layer coconut. Ingredients: - 400g of frozen grated cassave, thawed - 200g of grated coconut - 150g of coconut sugar - 1/2 can of jackfruit, cut into small[...]http://lidiasianturi.blogspot.com/2009/05/swe...

I've been on the fence about artichokes . I like canned artichoke hearts a lot - as toppings on homemade pizza , or in salads and paninis. As to fresh artichokes, it just seems like it is more work to eat it than to cook it... however, these purple baby artichokes at the Farmer's market were begging to be given another chance in my kitchen and the results were quite satisfactory :)[...]http://delectable-victuals.blogspot.com/2009/...

This bean from which this flour is made looks just like yellow split peas, but is quite different because it doesn't readily boil down to mush. It's more closely related to garbanzo beans, or chickpeas. The differences are that Bengal gram is younger, smaller, split, sweeter, and has[...]http://a2zvegetariancuisine.blogspot.com/2009...

Patra or Patarveliya is a well known Gujarati Dish, you can have it for a snack or make as a farsan for your complete thalli.. with full spicy, tangy and slightly sweeter flavours, it is great when you want to eat something different. Normally, patra isn't made with carrot, but i tried using carrot and it makes the dish taste alot better - it becomes sweeter, and the amount[...]http://joyofcooking247.blogspot.com/2010/02/p...

This recipe is adapted from steamed yam cake, yam is substituted with pumpkin and served with condiment, deep-fried shredded scallop, at the side. To make it different, I added hard boiled eggs in the cake. Beautiful pattern revealed itself once it is sliced. My initial plan was to use quail eggs but too lazy to shop for it.Ingredients (6 servings):Batter170g fine rice flour40g tapioca flour400mlhttp://mykitch3n.blogspot.com/2009/01/steamed...
