Ingredients

- 6 ounces plain flour
- 6 ounces butter
- 3 ounces caster sugar
- 2 eggs
- 3 medium size green apples - peeled, cored and sliced
- 1.1/2 flat tsp cinnamon powder
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- Some brown sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Line a 9 inch sq. spring form tin, set aside.

Step 2

Cream butter and sugar till light, thick and creamy, add in eggs one at a time.

Step 3

Stir in sifted flour and 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder.

Step 4

Spread half the batter over the base of the lined tin.

Step 5

Place the sliced apples on top of the batter, sprinkle in some brown sugar and remaining cinnamon powder.

Step 6

Spread the remaining batter evenly over the apple slices.

Step 7

Bake in preheated oven 180 deg C for about 10 minutes. or till light golden brown.

Step 8

Cool in tin for about 10 minutes. before cutting up into squares/rectangles, as desired.
