Mint cilantro rice / pudina and coriander leaf rice recipe


Ingredients

- Basmati rice - 2 cups
- Mint - 1 bunch Cilantro
- 1/2 bunch Cloves
- 3 Cinnamon stick - 1/2 inch
- Ginger - 3/4 inch
- Mustard Seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Urad Dal - 3 tbsp
- Toor Dal - 3 tbsp
- Green Chillies - 2 nos
- Red Chilli - 1 no.
- Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Cumin Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Oil to saute
- Salt to taste

Preparation

Step 1

Add oil, splutter mustard seeds, fry the dals and chillies until they turn red.

Step 2

Add washed cliantro and mint leaves and saute for a quick minute.

Step 3

Then grind them in a blender, do not use too much water as the leaves give out water too.

Step 4

In a skillet, add oil, ginger, cinnamon and cloves.

Step 5

Add the ground paste, salt, turmeric and cumin powders.

Step 6

Let it boil for about 8 minutes and notice the oil separating, let it cook for few more minutes.

Step 7

Mix in the rice well and serve hot!
