Beetroot thalipu or spicy beetroot salad - indian style


- Beetroot , 2
- Red chili powder , 1teaspoon
- Coriander powder , 2 teaspoon
- Roasted split gram or Potukadalai , 1tablespoon
- Garlic cloves , 5
- Mustard seeds, 1teaspoon
- Urad dal ,1teaspoon
- Curry leaves , 1strip


Step 1

Peel the beetroot and chop into small pieces, steam and drain the excess water keep it aside.

Step 2

Heat oil in a fry pan add mustard,urad dal, curry leaves and saute it for 30secondes.

Step 3

Add the chili powder and coriander powder saute it for another 30secondes.

Step 4

Add the beetroot and fry it for 1minute. Add the garlic and roasted split gram powder. cook for 1minute.

Step 5

Garnish with curry leaves.

Step 6

Garnish with curry leaves.
