- In a medium bowl combine flour, 1 tablespoon of the sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Stir it to make sure it is good and combined. Use a pastry cutter to cut the butter and vanilla into the dry ingredients.
- Add milk to form dough. Set this beautiful dumpling dough aside.
- In a large pot, dump in your washed berries, 1 1/4 cup of the sugar, and water. Bring this to a boil.
- Drop dumplings by the spoonful into the hot boiling berries.
- Cover the pot, reduce heat to low, and cook slowly for 20 minutes.
- Serve warm.
