Southern Accents

By Cookin' Lean Like Paula Deen (Visit website)

All great dishes deserve a great presentation. This section is all about "setting the stage" for the hard work we put into the delicious dishes we make. In addition to recipes, I would also like to share with you some quick and easy table decorating ideas. Complete your special meals with simple and inexpensive table decor; infused with southern charm and simple sophistication.

The first post for Southern Accents is a centerpiece made of fruit, greens, nuts and spice. The source of inspiration can be found in Paula Deen's Holiday Entertaining Issue of Cooking with Paula Deen (page 74).

FRUITFUL CENTERPIECE

WHAT YOU NEED...

1 large bowl or platter
1 Pineapple
3 oranges
2-3 red apples
2-3 green apples
2-3 lemons & limes
Clove
Cinnamon Sticks
Mixed Nuts (in the shell)
Fresh Greens

HOW TO...

Starting with the pineapple in the center, arrange the other apples, lemons, limes and oranges; surrounding the pineapple. Randomly insert the Cinnamon, greens and nuts throughout the fruit. Clove pieces should be stuck into the apples and oranges. Place in middle of the table for a fresh and festive centerpiece.

This centerpiece will last 4-7 days.

ENJOY!!
