Honey Halva
Halva, a dense sweet desert, can be spelt many different ways and is associated with many different countries and cultures. There seems to be two types of Halva, Flour Based and Nut Based.
This recipe is for a nut based Halva which seems to originate from the Mediterranean and Balkan regions and is served as a desert. Ingredients Method Heat the honey. Test the heat by dropping a little honey into cold water, if it forms a ball it's ready.Warm the Tahini, enough to make it workable.Shell and chop nuts. The quantity is down to choice, put as many or as few as you like.Add the nuts to the honey.Fold the Tahini into the honey/nut mixture.Press into a tin or plastic container.Leave to cool.When cool place in the fridge over night.Cut into squares and serve.The quantities and be adjusted, you just need halve the amount of tahini to honey.
