Baked hotate mentaiyaki

Mentaiko or ‘spicy cod roe’, is marinated roe of Pollock & it’s a common ingredient in Japanese cuisine. The cod roe works wonders to sharpen every distinguished flavour in an appetizer.

Ingredients:

5 large Scallops with Shells
2 Mentaiko sacs
2 tbsp Mayonnaise
1 tbsp Lemon juice
Mozzarella Cheese for topping
Preparation:

Step 1 Clean scallops & shells thoroughly to remove dirt & dry well.

Step 2 Preheat oven at 220 C.

Step 3 Remove mentaiko from its sac by using a spoon to scrap it out.

Step 4 Mix mentaiko with mayo, lemon juice.

Step 5 Spread them on scallops & top with cheese.

Step 6 Bake for about 10 mins or till golden brown. Serve hot!
