Crockpot Pulled Pork Sandwiches
I wanted some pulled pork sandwiches, but I can?t eat most BBQ sauces because of the sugar. So I made this in my handy dandy crockpot. It?s very yummy and the only ?sugar? is in the ketchup. It makes the pork nice an tangy without being over done. You can taste the pork! So get out your crockpot and get ready! Pulled Pork Sandwiches Ingredients: Rolls (we used Kaisers) 4-5 lb. Pork Loin Roast 1 1/2 c water 1 c ketchup 3 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 3 tbsp. vinegar 1 tsp. cornstarch 1 small onion, diced 1 clove garlic, minced 2 tbsp. honey 1 tsp. yellow mustard 1 tsp. vegetable oil
Directions: Add 1 tsp. veg. oil to a medium saucepan. Sauté onion until it starts to caramelize. Add in minced garlic and continue cooking for another minute. Add in Worcestershire sauce, honey, mustard, and vinegar. Cook for 3 minutes stirring often. Add in your ketchup. In a cup add 1/2 c cold water and your tsp. cornstarch. Mix completely then add to your sauce. Reduce heat to low and cook for 10 minutes. Remove from heat. In your crockpot add your roast, 1 c of water and your sauce mixture. Cook on low heat for 6-8 hours or until the meat is tender and easy pulls apart. Remove your roast to a large platter or cutting board. Using two forks pull the meat apart and shred it by pulling your forks through it. Once shredded place the meat back into your crockpot so it can soak up some of the juice/sauce. Using a fork or tongs remove a generous amount of meat (let the excess juice drip off a little before placing it on your roll) and place it on your roll. ENJOY! related searches : Crockpot
