More Makunouchi Bento
Lest you thought I had run out of chicken karaage or mackerel…nope, here’s the last of it! I pack two to three bentos each work-day so there’s always a “back-log” of photos. This works works out well for the blog as there are many times when the current bento is not very photogenic or interesting. In fact, bentos for me are usually the most boring and hardly ever make the cut. It’s been a little over a year since I started blogging. In those early days, I felt compelled to create new and different bentos filled with exotic foods from faraway places?then post them? everday! Ha ha! I ran out of ideas and time. Which means, dear readers, that you get see bentos redux! :) Hope you don’t mind. Today’s featured bento has the yummy chicken karaage, and in case you missed the recipe, it’s here, the store-bought broiled mackerel, cucumber-carrot sunomono, purple sweet potato, and for extra color, a bright red raspberry! The second tier contains the rice, furikake and umeboshi. Again, this is the last of the chicken and since I’m not planning on smelling up the house again with deep-frying…karaage is not on the bento-menu anytime soon. The store-bought mackerel though… Added this bento to “What’s for Lunch Wednesday?” related searches : More
