2011!

By Coffee and Cake (Visit website)

Happy New Year!

No matter how many times I tell myself that I’m not feeling the blogging “thang” I keep getting drawn back to your blogs and wanting to write a post.  What can I say, it’s a hobby that I just cannot give up.

How was everyone’s holidays?  Ours were great but I must say, my IBS was awful!  And, as much as I hate to admit it, I suspect the everything-tarian diet doesn’t work for me.  However, I’m feeling optimistic about 2011.  And since this is a food blog, I’m returning to showcasing a celebration of a completely dairy-free, and mostly plant-based diet.  I’ve been inspired by my favourite digestive divas who seem to do well managing their IBS this way.  It’s not dissimilar to a popular approach called the Help for IBS diet which has helped many people.    Are you bored yet of all my dietary swaps and changes?  I most certainly am, but I’m feeling good about this one.  And, as much as I love food, I love being relatively IBS-free more.

Onto the food.  Here are some of my 2010 faves:

LOVE apples.  I have no idea why, but they’re defo one of the best fruits…

Pukka teas.  I love their three mint tea as well.  I’m not sure if they’re available in the US but if they are I recommend trying them.

Home-made bread is by far the best bread (ever).  Too good (sorry GF readers!… I’m going to get the celiac blood test done to check it is just IBS that I have).

Sweets.  I have eaten ridiculous amounts of these!  I don’t think I’m going to have many teeth left by the time I’m 40!

So there we have some of my food highlights from 2010.

Here’s to 2011!  Happy New Year! :)
