3 Ad Hoc at Home Winners!

By Bouchon For 2 (Visit website)

Great news! Thanks to the generosity of Thomas Allen & Son I can choose two more winners! They are the Canadian distributors so I chose two local entries.

Ad Hoc At Home Winner #2

Congratulations, Elizabeth of Guiltykitchen.com! Of all meats, succulent and fatty lamb is by far the most comforting. I’ve never had little Irish dumplings and I hope Elizabeth will make some for me one day!

“MMmmmm, comfort food. Isn?t it all comfort food? Well, to me it is. But here?s my fav. Since I have Irish roots, there is something in the small of lamb that does things to me. A big ol? simmering out of Irish lamb stew (made with Guiness of course!) and served topped with little Irish dumplings. Oh I could go for some right now.” - Elizabeth

Ad Hoc At Home Winner #3

Congratulations, Degan of EthnicEats.ca! For me, potato is a food group in itself. I love how this girl isn’t afraid of her butter, garlic, cream, and salt. What really got me though was the truffle oil. Something about a steaming bowlful of mash, permeated with truffles that immediately makes me salivate.

“I have many comfort food dishes, but the go-to is always going to involve mashed potatoes of some sort. Garlicky spuds mashed with skins still on or whipped with cream and a bit of truffle oil..and always with a lot of butter and salt.” - Deagan

Ad Hoc At Home Winner #1

Congratulations, Angela of SpinachTiger.com! Meat pie is an ultimate comfort food; I love how juicy gravy and flaky pastry combines with the comfort of steaming veggies and meat. I appreciate how you attempted your mom’s soul- warming recipe and shared it with us.

“Out of everything my mom makes, the single most comforting food has always been a beef and bean pie in pastry. The beef is shredded, flavored with herbs (like a beef stew) and then accompanied by limas, and other beans, carrots, onion celery. When you get a bite of the beef, the beans and the pie crust, there is no describing the feeling of home, satisfaction, flavors and you will undoubedly eat way more than you should. My blog post never did it justice.” - Angela
