Matar Paneer (Cottage cheese with peas)
Matar Paneer This dish is one of my favourites because it has cottage cheese and I loooove it :) It is so easy to make this dish and that too it's prepared in just a few minutes ! So let's get started .... Ingredients : 1 cup cubed cottage cheese 1 cup green peas 1 medium sized onion finely chopped 1 small can of tomato paste Half a cup of thick cream 1 tbsp cashew nut powder 1 tsp ginger/garlic paste Half tsp turmeric powder Half tsp red chilli powder Half tsp garam masala powder 1 green chilly - chopped Salt to taste Method : First of all in a small frying pan , shallow fry peas and cottage cheese in 1 tbsp oil. Fry until they turn light brown in color and keep it aside. In a deep bottomed non stick pan , on medium heat take 2 tbsp oil and start frying the onions. Fry until they change the color to translucent pink and then add the ginger/garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder and fry for about 2 minutes. Then add the tomato paste , mix well and pour a cup of water to it. Now add the green chilly, cashew nut powder, cream and salt. Stir well until evenly mixed. Cook for about 5-10 minutes and then add the shallow fried peas and cottage cheese to this delicious, rich curry ! Cook for another 2 minutes and put it off the flame . Serve in a nice bowl and garnish with coriander leaves or chopped cashew nuts !! It tastes awesome with hot naans and kebabs :) related searches : Matar
