Northam Food Court
Honey coated barbequed wings If you visit penang, you can?t miss out on O?chien (oysters omelette) it is a must have before you leave. Other great dishes include barbeque chicken wings and Char Koey Teow. CKT is a flat noodle stir fried with eggs, large prawns, spring onion, oysters, and beansprouts. You can have it spicy or plain. Oysters omelette Fried Koey Teow Whenever I go home I will also have Yong Tau Foo, the best Yong Tau Foo I like is the one in Madras Lane, Petaling Street, it is inside the wet market, towards the end of the market. The fish ball and stuffed beancurd is so good, I normally have it with cheong fun. You have to get there early to find parking, because it can be very packed, and you got to walk a distance from the parking place, most of the time my parents would ?take away?, because there isn?t anywhere to put the car. Anyone likes Madras Lane Yong Tau Foo as well? Sometimes I will have the cheong fun from bangsar wet market, the fish balls and meat balls are not as fresh, you can ask for sweet brown sauce, plain sesame oil and soy sauce, or curry sauce too. This is an alternative if I feel like eating cheong fun and can’t get to Madras Lane early, bangsar is another place with parking problems, most of the time someone has to stay in the car, and the other will get down to buy.
Tom yum bee hoon with yong tau foo
Plain noodle soup with yong tau foo The Yong Tau Foo in Penang is no where near the KL ones, it is very different, you choose your choices of YTF, and your choice of noodles, and they mix everything together, however, the Yong Tau Foo vendor does not sell the Cheong Fun, so you would have it with soup noodle i.e. mee hoon, or mee either in tom yum soup or plain soup. If you want to have cheong fun like the ones in KL, you got to buy cheong fun separately, and the yong tau foo separately. Insane right? Lol..
