PUNJABI CHOLE

INGREDIENTS :

250 gms chole ( chickpeas )
3-4 green chillies , slit
3 tomatoes , finely chopped
2 onions , finely chopped
2" piece of ginger , finely chopped
8 cloves of garlic , finely chopped
3 tbspn coriander leaves , finely chopped

1tbspn garam masala
1tspn coriander powder
1/4tspn red chilli powder
1tspn anardana powder
1tspn turmeric powder or 1 tea bag ( depending if you want black colour or yellow )

METHOD :
Soak chole overnight in water.Cook it in pressure cooker along with salt and turmeric/ teabag (discard the tea bag after this step)Heat oil in a pan and fry the chopped onion till golden brown. Then add finely chopped tomatoes, ginger, garlic, coriander powder, anardana powder, red chilli powder, slit green chillies and fry well on low heat. Now transfer the above masala to the chole in pressure cooker , mix well and crush the chole lightly with the laddle for a thick consistency.Sprinkle garam masala and cook covered for about
