Sausage-Cheese Balls
These little pop-in-your-mouth treats are quite tasty. Enjoy one...or more. For the past two months, I have been ordering organic produce and baking products from an awesome company called Azure Standard. You can read more about it on my page called Resources and Links. That's where I bought this baking mix. I'm such a sucker for cute packaging. This image perfectly captures the country life I dream about: ringing the dinner bell for my family while having my hair perfectly curled, wearing a crisply-starched apron, and having a 22-inch waist. The last time my waist circumference was 22 inches, I was taking my lunch to school in a Strawberry Shortcake lunchbox and selling Girl Scout cookies. ----------------------------------- Three ingredients: baking mix, cheese, and sausage. Mix together until crumbly. Roll into bite-sized balls and bake. These were so good, I didn't even get a chance to snap a photo of the finished product. They quickly disappeared. Sausage Snack Makes 40 1-inch balls 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated 1/2 pound ground sausage, uncooked 1 1/2 cup baking mix (Mary Jane's Baking Mix or Bisquick) Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In a large bowl, mix together the cheese and sausage. Blend baking mix into the cheese and sausage mixture (it will be crumbly). Shape mixture into 1-inch, bite-sized balls. Place balls 1 inch apart on an ungreased jelly-roll pan (or line a baking sheet with parchment paper). Bake for 15-20 minutes. Recipe from: Mary Jane's Budget Mix ?
