Wet Saturday

By Eat, Live, Run (Visit website)

Hey yall!

I hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday. It’s been pouring here since I woke up at 5:30, so unfortunately it’s been quite dreary and there was no farmer’s market this morning! :(

This morning I began my day again with a big yogurt bowl containing 1 cup oikos, 1/2 cup quaker oatmeal squares, a naner, pb and blackberry preserves:

I think this is the best combo yet. I love the major crunch factor of the quaker oatmeal squares! Divine!

Mid-morning, I ate this huuuuge honey crisp apple:

And for lunch, I ate staff meal because I was really feelin’ it today. My plate consists of leftover roasted veggies that I brought from home, mojo chicken with caramelized onions, a small portion of yellow rice with peas and a couple fries ;)

The fries were SO good. Adam caught me eating one and goes, “You better tell the blog about that!!” haha! Of course I tell the blog about it! Here’s a picture of the cheese fries in all their glory:

They were gooooood. :)

Lunch kept me full all afternoon until I went grocery shopping after work (of course). I got so hungry all of a sudden that I snacked on a peanut butter cookie Luna Bar right in the store! Don’t worry, I brought up the wrapper to the register so they could scan it.

What I REALLY want is a peanut butter pretzel Clif Mojo bar………but they don’t sell those here! I will NEVER take Whole Foods for granted again!

Here’s my grocery loot. First, the frozen goodies:

Then, my produce (note the two gorgeous pomegranates! they were 2 for $4 so I splurged):

And other random stuff:

When I got home, I worked out in the home gym while watching the Florida/Georgia game. Here’s what I did:

couple minutes on elliptical to warm up

2 sets of pushups on stability ball—15 reps

2 sets of hammer curls—12 lbs, 15 reps

2 sets of triceps kickbacks—12 lbs, 15 reps

2 sets of seated row—50 lbs, 15 reps

2 sets of lat raises-–8 lbs, 15 reps

2 sets of chest press with dumbbells on stability ball—15 lbs, 15 reps

2 sets of one sided bicycle crunches on stability ball—20 reps, 2 sets each side

3 sets of crunches on stability ball—20 reps

It was short but sweet. Afterwards I started on din-din. I had yummy roasted brussels with some of this…….

Love it! I threw a can of tuna into the mac&cheese after it was done to increase the protein content. I ate half of it with my sprouts. I also had about a half glass of red wine.

For dessert, I had a set of mini waffles with jam and a tiny cup of pom seeds :)

I heart pom:

As for work, like I said there was no farmer’s market this morning. I was sad because I was really looking forward to going and when the alarm went off this morning and I could hear the pounding rain, I knew it wasn’t good. I got soaking wet walking from my car to work and was cold all day long.

I still did get crank out some goodies though! First, I made a Sacher Torte. I used two flourless chocolate cakes that I baked off yesterday and spread marmalade in the middle. I coated it in a rich chocolate buttercream and then glazed it with chocolate glaze. Very rich (and shiny)!

I baked a pumpkin pie and another key lime pie:

And a fruit tart covered with pineapple, plums, strawberries and orange segments:

And Adam put together this lovely looking fresh fig tart:

Early afternoon I started on the insurmountable task of juicing enough lemons to produce over a pound of juice for lemon curd. I had put off this task all week long but Adam would not let me forget to do it today since tomorrow is my day off! It took awhile to do but the end product turned out deeeelicious! I used the curd to make little lemon tarts:

I also made some milk chocolate truffles:

And that’s it! I am having a relaxing night….about to read my book:

It’s really really good.

See you tomorrow! Don’t forget to set your clocks back. I’ll be back after church in the morning :)
