Block Scheduled
Hi folks! As my post title indicates, I have ?block-scheduled? my evening into segments. I may not be taking a lot of hours, but I do have a lot of required reading for my classes. But I?m a total nerd and consider most of the reading interesting So backing up to this morning– It was a strength day! My weekly plan is to do 3 days of non-consecutive strength training. I aim to make at least one of those full body and the other two either upper or lower body. However, since I?m not sore from Sunday?s strength training, I decided to go for another full body routine today. At the gym I did lots of different strength moves: 5 minutes warm up on elliptical side lateral raises dumbbell chest press triceps dips biceps curls with a twist single leg Romanian dead lifts overhead shoulder presses side lunges chest flies hamstring curls on stability ball I did 3 sets of 10 reps for each exercise, and I used 8-10lb. weights for all except side lunges and chest flies, when I used 5 lb. weights. The whole thing took me about 40 minutes this morning. Good stuff. ____________________________________________________________________ *Roommate Rant Ahead When I walked into the gym this morning my roommate was ?jogging in place? next to her elliptical machine. When saw me, she said, ?Oh, haha, I?m not dancing, I just get tired of working out sometimes, ya know?? I was like ?Yeaaaaa??. And to myself, I thought, ?When you?re tired, is when you LEAVE the gym.? *Rant Over _____________________________________________________________________ I?ve been going pretty strong the rest of today, other than a kind of lower-key mood than usual, everything is alright. I made myself smile after class by eating my snack on this new plate: Apres ma cours de francais, bien sur! I obviously strategically plated my mini bagel + I Whittled My Middle, later on. Phew! I feel like I?m reaching a wall with this thing, I think my core has gotten pretty strong, but I can feel that it?s just about time to switch things up! (Whittle My Middle 3, Angela?) Dinner Dinnertime finally rolled around after working on some Clinical Psych stuff. As if reflecting my mood, dinner was on the lame side. That, my friends, is a Boca burger, spinach, + provolone cheese in a Flat Out wrap (with ketchup for dipping). _____________________________________________________________________ I struggled with adding this to the post, but in the spirit of sharing and honesty, I will tell you guys that the true source of my ?blah? mood today is the fact that I heard back from one of the seven grad programs I applied to today. They ?regretfully informed? me that I did not receive an interview invitation. Granted, this school was not at the top of my list, but it still shook me up today. I?m fine though, still hopeful for bigger and better opportunities, but I think I need a good night?s sleep to ?recharge? my mood.
