Going Green in your Kitchen
Hi guys! I've been working on a few recycling projects, at home and out, and i've even incorporated it into my thesis to a certain extent, and i was thinking, why not show you guys some very simple ways to re-use things that we normally throw out or hide in the back of our cabinets. I get through so many containers of stuff that when they're empty i don't know what to do with them! So i wash them out, let them dry and air out for a day or two, then fill them with my baking ingredients. You have to keep an eye out for things that can be used for baking, like my mom's grill top barbecue stands, which i now use as cooling racks for my cakes and cupcakes! And since i love eating chocolate so much, I also tend to have lots of empty chocolate boxes that are too pretty to throw away, so i use them to store little bottles of food color and extracts. I also use any bottles to store freshly ground cinnamon(which is so much better than the store bought one.always use freshly ground cinnamon), and sometimes i use larger bottles to store baking soda and baking powder in bulk so i don't have ten different bottles i have to reach for! Another great way to store things is any baskets lying around. I have a huge basket that keeps all of my sprinkles in it, and my cabinets have no clutter because of these! I even use boxes and containers as cut outs(once they've been washed and dried thoroughly of course) for larger shapes. Here are a few pictures of the things i've re-used in my kitchen. And stay tuned for an amazing cheesecake recipe tomorrow! And it won't be your normal post, i'm trying to mix things up a bit=D
powder Stay tuned for tomorrow's post, and the menu and prices are up on my new facebook page! Oh and here's the cake i made for my friends birthday! related searches : Going
