My first two boules exited the oven this morning and so commences the little locavore's Breadstival - a parade of handmade loaves formed from the breath of the baby yeasties.

I'm a devotee of Nancy Silverton, owner of La Brea Bakery in Los Angeles and, truth be told, it would be silly for me to try to rephrase her lengthy and nearly perfect recipes. During these bread-eating day, I plan to make some variations on her breads and I'll post those. But if you want to make this loaf and many of the others that will follow, go out and buy her Breads from the La Brea Bakery.
