Photos from our short trip

Mikey and I returned yesterday from our short break away, only 4 nights, but it was certainly something we both needed.

You might remember a few months ago we went and stayed at the Beach Huts in Middleton, well we love it there so much it was our third time staying there this time.

Each hut is named after a beach, the hut we stayed in was called Bondi.

I love how lots of the huts are painted with stripes! Ours was blue and white.

Im guessing you would like to take a look inside?
I love how it is decorated, its more like a little home than holiday accomodation.

The bedroom

The Lounge

The little dining area

There was some really lovely interior like this amazing wooden clock

And I was in love with these lovely handles on the wardrobe!

We spent some of the time just relaxing at the hut...for me that means reading magazines and a little of my new found love for crochet granny squares :)

Each day we went on a walk somewhere in the surrounding suburbs.

The first day we went on our favourite walk in Victor Harbour. It is part of the Heysen Trail and is just amazing! Although it is quite a hard walk with very steep hills and lots of steps, needless to say I was pooped by the end lol.

The walk started off here...

As we were parking the car a kangaroo hopped out of the long grass. I think it was just as suprised to see us as we were to see him. Can you see it there in the next photo?

after about 5 minutes of walking we reach this little beach, I could have stayed there all day, it certainly would have been alot easier than continuing on the walk hehe

after a treck up a rather steep hill we reached these amazing cliffs. How sad that photos can never capture the beauty of actually being there.

Heres where the 'real' hard work started

The second day we went to Granite Island. Here is the long bridge which connects the island to Victor Harbour. This was a lovely day besides that I got sunburnt worse than ever before :(

On the island there is a cafe where we had coffee and watched the seagulls and the view

On one of the rocks next to the path has this amazing carving of a seal, can you spot it in the middle of the photo?

You can walk around the island, but my legs were still aching from the cliff walk the day before so we headed back to Victor Harbour.

There are lots of different beaches around where we stayed, here is one of them. You can see Granite Island in the background there. This one had a bit too much seaweed for my liking.

There was also a beach 5 minutes walk from where we stayed which was just perfect. The sand actually looks like it has glitter through it. I forgot my camera the couple of times we were down there, so sorry no photo.

Around where we stayed there are lots of nice shops. Here are some of the things I picked up during our stay.

Some more wool in pastel colours for my granny square blanket
(9 squares down woot!)

A pink purfume bottle. So funny when I was buying it one of the other customers asked me if it comes with a genie hehe

One of the shops selled only hand made things. I know lots of you would have loved that shop.

I bought these two handmade teddybears, the one on the left for myself and the other for my mum who collects bears. Arent they cute! and that much more special because I know theyr'e made by hand.

A letter R...for Rose of course

and some pastel cupcake cases

On the final night we were woken by a helecopter...the finish line for the Tour Down Under was in the next suburb...so we hurried home early and were lucky to beat the traffic.

I hope I haven't bored you too much with alllll these many photos. I know sometimes people dont enjoy looking at holiday pictures.

Recently I have recieved two awards.
