{IHOP? U-HOP? We All Scream 4 IHOP!}

By The Travelling Tastebuds (Visit website)

Yesterday’s brekkie @ IHOP was unbelievable!  So so delicious… if only every dish didn’t exceed 800 calories… this might be a regular brekkie spot.  It was the last meal with my dad before his trip to Malaysia… I’m going to miss him.  Looking forward to his return.

My dad ordered the tilapia dish… I ate all those fried potatoes.  This girl let’s nothing go to waste!

Besides fried yumminess… I ordered the slightly healthier {880 calories} chicken florentine crepes with hollindaise {sp???} sauce.  Can you believe this had fewer calories than the veggie crepes?  There’s a good lesson… just because it has veggies written all over it doesn’t mean it isn’t loaded with buttery goodness.  OMG… this was so good… after each bite I told myself I’d save the rest for my next meal… until the last bite was gone and I was like… eh… what the hell… you gonna’ eat those fried potatoes?  I have got to get a handle on my appetite!!!

Besides food… I am doing my best to prepare for the 2-Day Avon Walk For Breast Cancer {still accepting donations!!!}.  This morning I walked 8 miles using all my nifty new toys.  The plan was to run… but my hamstrings are still pinching a bit so I think it needs more time to heal.  I was content with the walk… the weather was beautiful this morning {before it turned platinum gray… not a good look}.  Okay… here’s the dealio…

Yurbuds Earphones work really well.  I managed to run just a smidge to test these babies out… and they didn’t budge at all.  The sound was amazing… no static… so I think these are a keeper!
Sweaty Bands were OK.  My hair stayed out of my way… but they didn’t quite have the hold I was expecting.  While no adjustments were necessary… I did feel it slide a bit.  Maybe I just have an odd-shaped head!!!
SPIbelt is another OK product.  The hype surrounding this really upped my expectations.  What I like is the elastic waist band {I think this helps to minimize bouncing} and the pouch material does stretch quite a bit to fit your essentials during those long runs.  But here’s what I noticed.  The belt had to be positioned a certain way to eliminate the bounce factor… if it was too high… bounce… if it was low… no bounce.  Kapish?  Unfortunately for me… low meant that it sat right below my belly pooch accentuating my… erm… assets.  Also… when placing items in the pouch… there is a certain order it must comply with to minimize bouncing.  First… flat items such as your credit cards… phone or ipod should be placed at the bottom so that it rests flat against your abdomen.  If you place anything that is not flat… such as keychains… pepper spray ect… the bounce factor is not only uncomfortable… it’s awkward.  Imagine running without a sports bra.  THAT’S what it felt like.
Garmin Forerunner 410 is great so far…  but I think I need to spend a bit more time with it in order to give an accurate review.  There are a ton of features… and I am still learning my way around.  Right now… it helps me keep a certain pace via the virtual partner feature and it let’s me know just how far I’ve travelled.  Before my run… it takes me a bit of time to figure out how to get things started… adjust the VP pace ect… but you’ll be hearing more about this product as I continue to train for the Avon Walk For Breast Cancer 2-day marathon.

What are your favorite running toys?
