Did You Know That Wednesday
It's all about being "green" and saving money these days. Did you know that there are ways to save water and therefore save money on your water bill. Here are just a few tips. 1. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, it takes 35 gallons of water to fill the average bathtub. Switch to a five-minute shower with a low-flow showerhead, and you'll save 22.5 gallons each time you scrub up! 2. A leaky faucet can waste 1000-2000 gallons of water a year so get those leaks fixed! 3. Pour a little food coloring in the tank of your toilet and if it leaks to the bowl you should get it fixed because you are wasting water with that leak. 4. Cover your hot water pipes with foam insulation to prevent heat loss. The pay off: hot water faster and less water waste. 5. Then, you won't waste water while you wait for the tap to get cold. Another option: Fill a cup with tap water, and drop in a couple ice cubes to chill it. 6. Get a high-efficiency (newer Dishwashers are already) dishwasher and wait for a full load vs washing by hand. related searches : Did Know
