Flor Patisserie

By Wen's Delight (Visit website)

27th Aug 2010

Since we were in Tg Pagar area before we went to D'Kranji, we dropped by Flor to get a cake for J. Flor Patisserie is a rather new Japanese-styled patisserie serving authentic Japanese inspired French pastry opened by Chef Yamashita, former chef of Patisserie Glace. The cyber craze for Japanese style french pastry seem to start from Patisserie Glace, then to K Ki and now Flor. I feel that K ki still stand out among them as their cakes are more delicate and special. Before I visited Flor, I already read quite a handful of positive reviews on them so I was more than happy when my friends suggested to drop by.

Flor Patisserie
2 Duxton Hill #01-01
Singapore 089588
Tel: 6223 8628
Opening hours -
Monday to Saturday: 11am - 7pm
Sunday: 11am - 6pm

We wanted to get a whole birthday cake but they only left with few selections of sliced cakes so we just grabbed whatever available.

Berry Berries - S$5.50

Chef Yamashita's signature strawberry shortcake, which consists of naturally soft sponge cake, fresh strawberries and luscious cream.

Waguri Millefeuille - S$6.50

Delicate strands of French chestnut cream carefully piped over a sandwich of crisp, flaky puff pastry and pastry cream, topped with sweetened Japanese chestnuts.

Classic Chocolate - S$6.00

Rich 58% chocolate cake, dense and moist in the center, with a dollop of thick fresh cream and chocolate pearls.

Fruit Tart - $5.80

Fresh seasonal fruits on smooth pastry cream and creme d?amande tart base.

Among them, our favourites will be the Berry berries and Waguri Millefeuille. The classic chocolate was a tad too dry for our liking and the fruits tart was just ordinary.

Happy Birthday, my dear friend!
