Twinkie diet??
a nutrition professor at k-state decided to make a point while doing his latest experiment. he would eat nothing but convenience foods like twinkies, doritos, little debbies and oreos for 10 weeks. to the surprise of many, he actually lost weight! he lost 27lbs in that time and his cholesterol improved as well. it begs the question, why eat healthy whole foods if you can lose weight and get healthier? one big factor in the weight loss actually had little to do with what he was eating and more about what he wasn't. during this experiment he cut his calories in half from 2600 to 1800. anytime you cut your food intake in half you're going to have a better chance of losing weight. another hidden factor that many may not realize is the fact that these foods are targeted for the sweet-tooth of children. scary as that sounds, most foods targeted for kids are actually fortified and enriched with essential vitamins and minerals. this helps kids receive at least a small portion of the necessary pieces to a healthy diet. while this is by no means a good idea long term, it did seem to be effective and safe for a 10 week span.. possible idea to shed those lbs around swimsuit season?
