Cool Cocktail ? Adam and Eve

By My Man's Belly (Visit website)

The Adam and Eve

The Adam and Eve

In yesterday’s post I admitted that I am obsessed,  at the moment, with all things pomegranate.  Obsessions are made so much easier when you have an enabler.  PAMA Liqueur was kind enough to send me samples of their pomegranate liquor.  So YAY!  I had even more pomegranate products to play with.

Since Craig was out of town, I got to play mix master.  I guess I should explain.  There are two culinary areas of which I am not the master.  The first is the grill – yes, I use the grill/yes, I cook really well on the grill but if Craig is around, the grill is his domain.  The second area is the bar area.  I can stock the bar, but the mixing is all up to the mix master general (Craig).  I think that’s how he gets to release his inner creativity (he’s got a pretty black and white job), so I let him do the creating.  But when he’s gone – look out!

I acquired a taste for Calvados when we went to Paris and every time I sit with a glass of it, I’m taken back to that warm and quiet hotel salon where I first sipped its honeyed apple taste.  And I’ve been trying to work up some new drink recipes to enjoy it, besides straight up – enter pomegranate.

Playing around with a bunch of fall flavors: cinnamon, ginger, apple, pomegranate I came up with a drink that I’m calling The Adam and Eve.  I came up with the name because, as the story goes, Eve tempted Adam with an apple.  Some scholars, people who study these sorts of things, believe that they actually ate a pomegranate.  So…Adam and Eve.

Makes 1

Ingredients

1 1/4 Ounce Calvados
3/4 Ounce PAMA Liqueur
1/3 Ounce (2 teaspoon) Ginger Syrup
1/6 Ounce (1 teaspoon) Cointreau
1/6 Ounce (1 teaspoon) Lemon Juice
1 Tablespoon Sugar
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon

Directions

Combine sugar and cinnamon in a dish and set aside.

Pour all liquid ingredients into a shaker, with ice.  Shake vigorously.

Wet the rim of the glass with water and rim with sugar cinnamon mixture.

Pour contents of shaker into glass and serve.
