Oatmeal With Chia Seeds
I have posted several times about oatmeal on Healthful Sense. That’s because we eat a ton of oatmeal around here! Serves 4-5 people (enough for the whole family in the morning) 1 1/2 cup oats Optional toppings – almonds, banana slices, blueberries, raisins, sunflower seeds, peanut butter, etc. You can either put the ingredients together in a large bowl and let soak overnight or cook in the morning by stovetop, crock pot, or microwave. The overnight method is a great way to manage a busy schedule by having breakfast ready for you in the morning. It just takes a minute to throw everything together – less time than it takes you to brush and floss your teeth. I like to keep my oatmeal pretty tame (just almonds and blueberries) but my husband and my boys like to add peanut butter, banana slices, and honey. This morning the baby had home-made mashed bananas and blueberries. Looks appetizing… she ate it all! Off to start the day.
