Nethili karuvadu varuval/ dry anchovies fry

Ingredients:

- Nethili karuvadu Anchovy / sec (cleaned and washed) 250 g
- Red Chilly Powder 2 tablespoons
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
- Tamarind paste 1 tablespoon
- Salt to taste

Preparation:

Step 1: Make a smooth paste of fresh red powder, turmeric powder, tamarind paste, salt and little water.

Step 2: Add this paste to dry anchovies.

Step 3: Mix well and marinate for atleast 15-20 minutes.

Step 4: Heat a wok, add 3-4 tablespoons of oil.

Step 5: When hot, add the marinated anchovies and fry until crispy golden brown.

Step 6: Serve with cooked rice to steam, Rasam and Sambar.
