Out of it.

By le cahier de Justin (Visit website)

Second time posting about this particular gentleman names Maximus Ng. I had the wonderful opportunity again to get an earful from this stranger who added me on Facebook. Last time it was about molecular gastronomy and how he wants to do that. After being crass with letting him know that I didn't like molecular gastronomy and how Singaporeans will never appreciate it, he let me know how the best should always be given to the customer. Again on that molecular talk.

Just this night, we chatted on FB IM again, and after bringing up the issue of the last discussion, he tells me molecular can never work in Singapore. Which was my main point to begin with.

Now, after telling him that we were too many in the kitchen today, he tells me something unimaginable. I said I wanted more work to do, because that way I get to learn. So I said I'd take prep work from trainees. Or at least tell chef to put less people in the kitchen. After hearing how that I might 'jeopardize' his friend's chances at doing a stage or working in the restaurant, he got angry (I'm guessing).

Before saying the later mentioned, he corrects my typo:
"Justin - me time is now

Max - my*"

And this is what he said that shocked me:
"u gotta know something is that u gotta be less selfish... seriously ur time will come, and when u are good, no one can do ur MEP. its quite pathetic to think that you are only as good as snatching MEP from trainees... come on.
u are better than that... be more clear headed my friend
i duno what issit, but somehow your attitude in work is somehow weird in a bad way..."

Such angst. 'Selfish', 'pathetic', telling me to be more clear headed. I hardly know ye.

I am. I'm very clear headed. On the contrary, I'm wondering if he'll be getting along well with people in CIA in the near future. I wish him all the best. I look forward to competing with him in the journey to excellence

Seriously... No manners...
