TheXtraMileRun -- Giving kids a running stART

By Pillow Talk with Bangsar-bAbE (Visit website)

Dear all,

StART Society will be organizing a 100km charity run called "TheXtraMileRun" to raise funds for StART's Music and Dance Programme and Dream Village. A "hero runner" will be running 100km (yes, ONE HUNDRED KILOMETERS) for this good cause, and he will be paced by a troupe of elite runners.

The running route starts at Putrajaya, Precint 3 and will traverse through 10 suburbs including Puchong, Sunway, USJ-Subang, Glenmarie (Dream Village stop), Ara Damansara-Mayang-Megah-D.Utama, Bandar Utama, Kota Damansara, TTDI, Mont Kiara, Damansara-Bangsar, and finally finishing in Petaling Jaya (StART Society). *I'll be at the Damansara-Bangsar route.

The run begins at 6pm, Friday evening (June 17, 2011) and is scheduled to finish latest by 10am Saturday morning (June 18, 2011). Do support this good cause -- by participating in the run, volunteering and most important of all, becoming a sponsor.

Here's how you can do so:

1) Branded Checkpoint Sponsorhip Package

2) Friends-of-Charity Sponsorship

Branded Checkpoint Sponsorship Package: At a nominal sponsorship of RM10,000, the hero runner will make a stop by your venue of choice as he runs through the selected suburbs en route to the 100km finish line. It will be an oportunity for you to meet running enthusiasts and folks from your community area where you can set up a branded and decorated checkpoint at your selected retail front/branch or a rented community hall.

Friends-of-Charity Sponsorship: You could pool with 19 good friends to raise RM500 each, which would add up to RM10,000. For this, the runner will stop by your venue of choice (hang out place, restaurant, home, retail) as he traverses through the major suburbs in Klang Valley.

On the 6th of May, sponsors and all participting partners (hopefully you!) will be present for the media press conference and blitz! Please please please do pass the word around and help forward this to your friends and those who may want to play a part in this event!

For the kind sponsorships, StART Society will acknowledge your logo/name on their banners, runner's jersey, mentions over social media, photo ops and mentions in major print titles. StART reaches out to 322 children from all over Klang Valley who enjoy weekly and year-long classes in art, dance, drama, music and more. After 2 ½ year in operation, the children have not only honed their artistic and creative skills but have also improved in their academics.

Check out the XtraMile Run website, coming LIVE to you this 7 May www.xtramile.info

Write to xtramileday@gmail.com to see how you can be part of this novel event. Remember, a little kindness goes a long way...

xoxo,
