Beans with Red Chilli Powder-Garlic paste
Beans mixed with red chilli powder and garlic paste is our favorite, especially in winter when served with hot rasam and rice. I prefer to boil beans only 3/4th to get the crunchy effect. Ingredients: 1/4 kg beans 1 onion medium sized, chop fine Boil beans in enough water with little salt until 3/4th done, drain and keep aside.. For the paste: 6 or 7 large garlic cloves 1-2 tsp red chilli powder (depends on spice level) In a pestle or blender make paste of both the above ingredients and keep aside. For popu/tadka: 1 tsp oil 1/2 tsp jeera 1/2 tsp mustard haldi, salt to taste Cooking: Heat oil in a vessel, do the tadka. When mustard splutter add chopped onions and fry until they turn transparent. Add chilli powder garlic paste, fry until the raw smell goes away. Add boiled beans, haldi and salt. Mix well add 1/4 cup of water to blend everything well. Cover and cook on slow flame for 10 minutes or until the beans absorb garlic paste. Check the salt and switch off. Serve hot with rice. With hot rasam, it makes a great combination. related searches : Beans
