Don?t Hate

By Something Good This Way Comes ? (Visit website)

Hellloooo, m’loves! Remember me? I used to post here…my name’s Izzy. That’s my face right there –>

No? Still nothing? Well perhaps this will ring a bell…

[[ I love those wonderfully sunny, clear, crisp autumn days ]]

[[ When I can wake up to the sunshine and take my time with my tea + oats ]]

[[ Steel cut oats cooked in unsweetened soy milk and pumpkin puree with a whole chopped up apple, dried prunes, chia seeds, almonds, flax and egg whites. Oh, and cinnamon (obv). With a dollop of almond buttah on top and a cuppa tea off to the side ]]

Yeah, I eat a lotta that. Some things never change ;)

.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.

Well how have you all been? Actually, I know how y’all have been because I’ve been constantly stalking your blogs. Sometimes I comment, sometimes I don’t, but I tell you – it’s what keeps me sane!I just haven’t found the time to update my own little baby.

School has been nutzo (have I ever mentioned how much I wanna try Nutzo? UGH if only Canada, if only…). I’ve made a chart of what needs to be completed within the next three weeks and it makes me wanna cry to look at it. So I don’t. Problem solved ;)

Here are some of the highlights of my recent life, with pictures of food stuffs intersperced in between (so as not to lull you all to sleep with my thrilling, facinating, exciting and enticing life). (<– why is that red and why can’t I change it??)

[[ Turkey breast scallopini marinated in Worcestershire sauce and grilled on the 'Foreman with a side of butternut squash (nuked, cause I was too impatient to bake ;P) and a lentil/green pepper/orange pepper/carrot/garlic/onion mash (aka - whatever needs to be used up +lentils and spices) ]]

Grades - uhm, somehow my grades (thus far!) are really, really good! We’re talking, consistent 90s! It’s funny – I’ll go from doing a test, thinking I failed it, considering dropping the class, to getting back a paper with a big, phat 90 on it. Wow. And speaking of tests, I have a big law one today. Ackkkkk :S

[[ Newfavelunchpartone: Broccoli, as in, like, 2-3 cups of broccoli, plus garlic (yum!) plus protein (eg. chickpeas!). Scientific fact: chickpeas sink to the bottom of big broccoli bowls every. time. ]]

Work – I still love my jobs. My hours suck now, but I can’t wait till vaycay when I get to make some extra moolah!

[[ Newfavelunchparttwo: GREEN MONSTER! Oh, my. I've been OBSESSED with these suckas lately! I've even increased the green in my monsters whilst decreasing the sweet. This included spinach + frozen and unfrozen nanner + vanilla protein powder + guar gum + flaxmeal + ice. Check out that viscosity! ]]

Food – I’ve been severly enjoying cooking! Esspecially savoury, dinner meals. Dunno what it is. I just so look forward to them! Lately I’ve been obsessed with lentils + turmeric. Oh, my. It makes it so buttery and wonderful. Go. Make. Now.

[[ Oh, butternut squash. Never leave me? Butternut squash butt (aka, the bulbous part, haha), split and seeded (not peeled - I love the skin!), baked nuked and stuffed with a lentil+lima bean+red pepper mix. I always over estimate my stuffing amounts, so like the lady I clearly am, I did the only ladylike thing I could think of with the extras - ate 'em straight off the pan with my wooden spatula ;) ]]

Food (the other side) – oh, ED. That constant damper on my mood. That papercut on my thumb. That rain on my parade. Yup, he’s still around. His voice comes and goes. For example, yesterday was an awful day. I was just feeling bloated, who knows why, and it really got to me. Today’s a better day, but the lack of consistency is annoying. I also decided to forego my intuitive eating experiment for a while because I found myself subconciously restricting my intake on those days. I’ll try again when I get to a better place.

[[ I seem to think of evenings as dessert - my sweet tooth always gets ragings post-6PM. Exhibit A: hot chocolate in my Starbys mug with a White Chocolate Wonderful open-faced sammich, dates and almond buttah-protein-cookie dough! (nut butter + protein powder + scant soy milk, a la April). SO good. ]]

.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.::.

So that’s pretty well been my life! (Contain your seething jealousy, please) I finally have a grip on my school work, so I’ll try to post a bit more often. I’m thinking I’ll be doing a bit more posting, just shorter posts. Sometimes I feel like I sit down to blog and come out of it with a novella! Seriously, though, this blog keeps me sane and accountable, and I don’t want to lose it. So I gotta keep it up.

I hope you’ve all been doing amazing and keep yourselves warm and cozy in this cold, cold weather! (And if it’s warm and beautiful where you are…well then…I just have no words for you)

Till next time, lovies.
