I was watching "Food Detectives" on the Food Network with host Ted Allen when he addressed this problem and gave directions on how to make your own crystal clear ice: First, you have to use DISTILLED WATER. It has no minerals like your tap water.Then you boil the water and let it cool down - TWICE.Fill your ice cube tray sections one third of the way and freeze that layer.Repeat this 3 times until your trays are filled.When you pop your ice you will see that you have some beautiful clear ice cubes for your cocktails!
