Juice Recipe: Orange Extravaganza
A while ago, I posted up a recipe called Orange Sherbet Juice. I think that the name might have thrown some people off from trying this delicious juice recipe. In that post, I tried to explain that this juice just tastes like it has sherbet in it- that creamy delicious taste that is so distinctive to orange sherbet alone. I’m not sure how this juice came about- I believe that one day I was just jamming some things through the machine that I had around in the kitchen, hoping for the best. When I tasted this, I had to write down everything that I put in before I forgot and then run the recipe again for my wife. She loves it too- told me that it is the best juice I have ever made. Well, that’s a pretty cool thing to hear. For some other really tasty juice recipes, check out the Green Juice Recipe, The Smooth Green Juice Recipe, The Orange Delight, Spiked Carrot Juice or any of the others on my Juice Page. Anyhow, here’s another go round at this fresh juice recipe that I hope people will try. I’ve put in some pictures as well so you can really see how vibrant this juice is. Oh yeah, you really need to have a juicer for this one. I use my Breville Dual Disc (check out the review) for all my juice. Even with a great blender like a VitaMix, it will be pulpy, thick and overly tasting of ginger. But, if that’s your thing, give it a shot. Orange Extravaganza: 1 Fuji or similar apple Well, as with all the juice that I make- the first thing to do is to wash the produce really well. Even if it is organic, it is always best to give stuff a good scrub. Some people even scrub things they are going to peel, which I can understand. The knife has to go through the skin to peel it, so the pesticides and fertilizers could be carried into the part you’re going to juice. It’s personal preference to wash or not to wash items that are going to be peeled. For the carrots, I don’t peel them, just wash them off really well. Here’s a quick tip: you can peel your fresh ginger really easily with a spoon. Who knew- right? Ok- when it comes to the mango, I use an OXO mango slicer. I’ve tried to pit the mango without in the past and simply get too frustrated. Plus, with the mango slicer, I can peel the mango first and then slice it easily. Saves a ton of time and this way most of the fruit ends up being used which is a plus. Shoot everything through the juicer, skim off the layer at the top and go to town. If you let the juice sit for any length of time without drinking it, be sure to stir it up again. Look at the orange color of this juice- it’s incredible! And, it tastes even better than it looks! So fresh. Drink this and you’re ready for the day, no problems. Enjoy. ![]() Formerly known as Orange Sherbet Juice, now officially Orange Extravaganza. That's some orange juice for you!
