Peanut Butter Jelly Time!

By Cheese, Wine and Chocolate (Visit website)

Yep, that's right. Another post, another recipe. Before we get to the food, I bought some new makeup today, and some for my daughter. (I love girly stuff!!) What is a good age to allow girls to wear makeup? I've heard that some people do it in stages. First lip gloss, then mascara, next blush? Let me know your opinions. My husband and I do not agree on this topic at all. Anyway, I found this nail polish that I am in love with! It's by Sally Hansen and it's base coat, color and top coat all in one. The brush is flat instead of round, so it was easier to use. It's called Complete Salon Manicure. I highly recommend it. The colors are so fun, too! I bought "Sea and Be Seen", pictured below, but it looks different in person. It has a lot of purple in it, but from the picture, it doesn't look like it at all.

Ok, back to business.

These peanut butter and jelly bars are sooo good. Even though it makes a lot, I had no problem getting rid of them. Plus, they're easy and who doesn't like peanut butter and jelly? Not this girl!

Peanut Butter and Jelly Bars

Ingredients

2 sticks butter
1 1/2 c sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
2 c peanut butter
1 1/2 c oatmeal
1 1/2 c flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 c strawberry jam (or whatever you like)

Directions

preheat oven to 350 degrees and line an 9x13 pan with parchment paper, greasing the sides
cream butter and sugar until fluffy
add vanilla, eggs, and peanut butter and mix until combined
sift flour, baking powder, and salt
add flour to peanut butter mixture and mix until combined
spread 2/3 of the dough into the pan and flatten out with your hands
spread jam over the dough
with the remaining dough, either roll out, using more flour if necessary, and cut into shapes or drop small blobs of the dough over the jam I've done it both ways-both are great. I did the stars, just to make it pretty. I had to overlap them, because I had so much dough.
bake 50 minutes until golden brown

Enjoy!

xoxo
