Sweet Vanilla Butter Spritz Cookie Recipe
It’s already that time again. Time for another round in The Twelve Weeks of Christmas Cookies! What did I make this week? Sweet Vanilla Butter Spritz Cookies! I recently received an electric cookie press, so of course I had to play with my new toy. I’ve always wanted a cookie gun and these were so fun to make. Although it took me awhile to figure out the pressure and get my cookie all the same size and shape. I made a sweet butter cookie flavored with vanilla. Being a Christmas cookie, I broke out the vanilla beans to take it up a notch. Next time, I want to make an almond flavored cookie. “The Kid” wants chocolate. “The Hubby”just wants cookies! Sweet Vanilla Butter Spritz Cookies! 2 1/2 cups flour 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 pound butter (2 sticks) 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar 1 1/2 tablespoons pure vanilla extract 1 vanilla bean, seeds scraped 1 large egg Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar till light and creamy. Add vanilla, vanilla bean seeds, (discard pod or save for another use), egg, and salt.and mix until combined. Add flour and mix until just combined. Fill your cookie press according to the manufactures directions. Press dough out onto ungreased, unlined cookie sheet, about 2 inches apart. Bake in a preheated oven for about 10 minutes or until golden around the edges. Cool cookies before removing from pan.
