Breakstone?s Blogger Challenge Thanksgiving Menu!

By Iowa Girl Eats (Visit website)

Remember that MARATHON kitchen sesh I completed a couple Friday’s ago?

It was for Breakstone’s Triple Churned Sour Cream Blogger Challenge (say that 10 times fast!) The challenge? Update 3 family-favorite holiday dishes to be quick, easy & incorporate Breakstone’s sour cream. Easy? No. Delish? Yes!

Breakstone

I’m up against two other bloggers for a chance to win a really great prize AND every time you cast a vote for one of my dishes (voting is open 11/15-12/19) you’ll be entered to win a grand prize of $1,000 or 1 of 3 weekly prizes of $250 cash. Crazy dollas, y’all!

You’ve been SO supportive of my crazy endeavors in the past (Project Food Blog, anyone?) so I sure do hope I can count on your vote when the time comes around. If not, I hope you’ll enjoy the dishes anyways! :)

Here’s a sneak peak of my menu including an appetizer, entree and dessert. I’ll be posting the recipes starting tomorrow and throughout the week!

WHEE! I literally cannot wait for Thanksgiving!

In other news, Ben busted out the smoker yesterday morning, circa 8:30am, and cooked a 4lb brisket slow and low for almost 8 hours! The result? A tender, smoky BBQ feast. FOUR POUNDS OF IT!

I’m certain we’ll be eating brisket for days and days, but I’m actually not that upset. It made for an easy dinner tonight, and gosh darn it, if eating smoked meat is wrong, I certainly don’t want to be right!!

Served with some sweet BBQ sauce and sweet corn on the side. With a little butter. Natch.

I was really craving some cornbread but alas, I had none. Sometimes that’s the way the cookie cornbread crumbles! That’s right. I went there… ;)

Tonight I am watching the George Bush interview on NBC. I feel like I got a lot of insight into his and Laura’s life by reading her memoirs. Not good, not bad, just insight. Anyways, I want to hear him talk in a casual setting. That’s all I’m saying… ;)

Have a great night!
