Carrot Halwa
Carrot halwa is mainly made in winters in North India as carrots grow in winter. I remember the time when we used to wait for winter season only for this exotic dish. My mom make it from dark pink carrots, which enhance its flavour and give it a pinkish color. Though it can be made by any type of carrots. Gajar Halwa is my sister's favorite dessert. My mom always make this for her on her birthday as her birthday falls in winter. There are many methods to make this dish. Today I'm using my mom's method. Ingredients:Carrots - 250 g Milk - 500 ml Sugar - 50 g or per taste Ghee/unsalted butter - 2 tablespoon Cardamom powder - 1/4 teaspoon Roasted cashew nuts, almonds, raisins, to garnish Note - It is advisable to add sugar in the end otherwise it may stick to the bottom of the pan. related searches : Carrot
