Celebrations!

By iEyeFood (Visit website)

First off, MERRY CHRISTMAS readers! Thanks for following and supporting me since I began this site, you’ve really been great.

Secondly, a huge apology for my disappearance. I’d been celebrating my cousin sister’s wedding in India (and then an aunt and uncle’s anniversary) which was followed by family coming to visit me at University. All in all, didn’t have any time to myself where I didn’t feel like collapsing in bed!

Personal life aside, here’s some of the lovely Indian food that I had over the holidays!

Pani Puri

Pani Puri

This is my number one indian appetizer. A thin potato crisp ball filled with a vegetable curry, ton of spiced water and sweet sauce. The amount of flavours in these things are insane – ton of spice, bit of sweetness and all in bite-sized pieces. I guarantee you’ll end up eating at least 10 of them in one sitting.

Wedding Dish 1

Truckload of food going on here – at a wedding it’s quite common to get one large dish and go around buffet stalls filling it up with all the little delights imaginable. Here’s the first batch that I had. Dishes like Pav Bhaji, Batata Wada, Sev Puri and other indian dishes from every corner of the country.

Wedding Dish 2

Got some stuff that may be more familiar to you – Dosa, Indian spiced rice with minted yoghurt, Dhokla and even some indian styled pizza creeped it’s way in.

The anniversary cake

Anniversary Cake

What may appear to look like a simple cake but was in fact a Ferrero Rocher cake. The entire body of the cake felt as though you’d sunk your teeth deep into a Ferrero Rocher and it just wasn’t reaching the nutty-heart of the chocolate. In other words, an absolutely brilliant creamy delight. Loved it and now really want replicate it.
