CRACKED WHEAT KANJI (Gothambu kanji)
This is a very healthy and comforting dish.This can be made either slightly sweet or sour according to individual taste by adding sugar or salt. My family prefer to have it with a pinch of salt in it. INGREDIENTS Cracked wheat/gothambu rava-------------1/2 cup Water---------------------------------------------2 cups Milk-----------------------------------------------1 cup Salt or sugar-------------------------------------1/8 tsp or to taste Nuts----------------------------------------------- to garnish (optional) Ghee ----------------------------------------------1/4 tsp (optional) METHOD Pressure cook cracked wheat with water. Once it is fully cooked,add milk to it and boil uncovered.Add a pinch of salt to your taste. Mix it good and transfer to a serving bowl.Garnish with nuts if needed.You can also add a 1/4tsp of ghee to it if needed.Serve hot. Note: You can adjust the consistency of this dish by adding more water or milk up to your taste.The above measurement will give a medium thick consistency. related searches : Cracked Wheat
