Hamilton Pool Extravaganza + Brown Cow Greek Yogurt
![]() So I mounted up the kids and headed to Hamilton Pool which is really beautiful. I unfortunately did not have any extra batteries so my camera was a no-go! We will be going back so I will take pictures then but we ended up having a great time after a bit of consternation from the kids. Summer has made them a little soft, they would prefer to sit on their cans all day and watch the Disney Channel, if I let them. And believe me, they have seen their fair share of the Suite Life and Wizards of Waverly Place this summer. So I was not about to let a little grumbling deter out adventure. This was on our list of things to do this summer and by golly we were going to do it! In all seriousness, the kids ended up having a ball and I even had to make them leave. We started out by checking out the lay of the land and then took a hike before hanging out at the swimming hole. I have got to toughen up these kids a bit, they complained on the hike and then about the swimming and then miraculously they let loose and started having fun. I must admit when we first got in the pool a little girl came up to us and told us she had just seen a snake and that we better be careful. That did not bode well with the kids and they did not want to swim if a snake was in there, but more and more people started swimming and I assured them that the snake was more afraid of us than we were of him. (or at least I was hoping). Anyhow, we survived and had a good time, stopped at the store to pick up some baking supplies for tomorrow and of course, I forgot the one item we really needed. I hate that when I do that. I got all excited by a new brand of greek yogurt that is cheaper than the Fage. Brown Cow Farm now makes Greek Yogurt! It was the first time I had seen it in the stores so I had to get some. I bought a 16 oz. container of Plain 0% and 5.3 oz servings of plain, blueberry, strawberry and vanilla. I have not tried them yet... I needed to finish up the last of my big container of Fage but I will let you know how they are. The stats are about identical to other greek yogurt brands so I was excited and honestly it was cheaper- a $1.35 for the small container and $3.29 for the big guy. The big Fage is $4.99 at my grocery store. Hey a buck here and there can add up. So by the time we got home I was famished! We had each had an apricot in the car on the way home (there was an awful car wreck on 71 which involved one of those cute Smart Cars-- not good.) anyways, I went to my quick go-to meal once we finally made it home- Pumpkin Parfait. Pumpkin Crunch Parfait Pumpkin Crunch Parfait 3/4 cup Fage 0% Greek Yogurt 1 tsp honey 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice 1/2 cup of Go Lean Crunch Cereal, divided 1/2 cup of pure pumpkin In a small bowl, mix the yogurt, honey and spice together. Top with 1/4 cup of Go Lean Crunch Cereal, layer with pumpkin and top with remaining cereal. Enjoy. Dinner was leftover Roasted Brussels Sprouts, Sweet Potatoes and Onions. Yum. Can't wait to make another batch of that. I trained my evening clients and it was good to see the girls again. They worked really hard tonight. So I am now, contemplating whether or not I shall indulge in dessert or not. I did hike and swim today as well as do weights but it was not the hardest workout I have ever done.... I am thinking a small waffle bowl filled with Dreyer's Slow Churn Yogurt Blend Cookies and Cream....what do you think? Tomorrow is baking day, so we will be hanging at home getting ready for the Teacher's Luncheon. I am in charge of cookies so I am looking forward to making some goodies. I hope to find out who we got for teacher's this year as well. The post cards should be here any day. Wow, school is really about to start! I hope you all had a great day and I will check back in the A.M. related searches : Hamilton
