Merging, Purging, and Splurging
Well, I just washed away my Monday with a Multi-Mineral Detox mask. Any and all impurities, gushing down my drain pipes. It was definitely a Monday today! Though it was great to be home, and productive to boot, I was a little off all day today. Yoga was no different, I was in the zone, just not the right one! The heat was really getting to me today, it had to be upwards of 100! I felt pretty good in the beginning but once my breath got going, I stirred up my own heat, and the space heaters were smothering me! I am all for the warmth, and moving deeper into certain postures, but there comes a point in which it can easily become counter productive. When you are working such intense vinyasas, and flowing in such a manor, you begin to lose touch with your edge. I think people have this stigma, sweat=work. If you can really connect with the fire of your breath, and the energy inside you, you can create an inner heat that takes you where you need to be. It seems even in class, I notice people looking outwards for what they "need", in this case "heat" or sweat. By the end of the Vinyasas I could feel my self sinking into my joints, too loose and too beat. I do know better than where I went tonight, but somedays it just happens. It did feel very nice to detox a bit, I have to say it does make you feel better to get that sweat out. We did a good deal of Lions, backbends and other purging postures, to which I connected with tremendously tonight. I have been feeling so stagnant these past few days, It was good to stir up a bit of energy. After class I had to drop something off for my mom since they are headed to the Key's tomorrow. I decided to hop in the shower there to rinse it all off, and ended up enjoying dinner with them. While my mom was cooking, my dad and I went to Project Earth a fabulous home design shop that is unfortunately closing up shop, liquidating inventory. I picked up a few goodies for the apartment, some of which I have admired for months! Pewter Tray Lavender Soy Candle, since my mom broke mine today Glass container Gourd woman sculptures, fair trade and handmade. Wooden box/bowl Stocked and satisfied, we came home hungry to none other than.. You guessed it! Best meal ever. Recycled picture, but it's all good. We had sauteed greens aside quinoa and beans, topped with some southern Picadilly Relish and blue corn bread on the side. The whole 9 yards. To complete the splurging I fixed myself an Ice Cream Sundae upon returning to my humble abode Fresh strawberries, Soy Delicious, topped with Jumbo cashews and honey. Twas the perfect ending to my day. Im off for some serious couch potatering, but I will leave you with my latest jewelry musings... A few reconstructed vintage bits and pieces, still in the making. Have a great night!
