Wedding Talk Wednesday
Hi friends!! So, today, I am taking a break from the usual food bloggin thang to chat WEDDING! Because, for one- my fiance is currently across the world in CHINA for work, and who else can I count on for feedback other than you lovelies?! So please, if you do ONE thing this week, please comment on SOMETHING in this post!
The reason I beg for your comments is because- as anyone who has planned/is planning a wedding knows- S#&T?s HARD!! It can get sooo overwhelming! So the more help in decision making the better. And sometimes, you get caught up thinking about what YOU want, that you overlook what might be best for the guests. Let?s face it- yes a wedding is ceremonial commitment of two people agreeing to spend the rest of their lives together- but it is also one big GIANT party for everyone attending.
So, first, thought you might like the engagement story
GO GREEN!
Anyway. We had plans for the game- a bunch of friends coming over. I had a slight hangover (important detail, right?!) and decided to blow off my Saturday morning gym trip. I asked TJ if he wanted to go get coffee and walk the dogs in town. I honestly have no idea why I asked him this, because, in FIVE years, we literally had NEVER done this. I also can say 100% I had NO idea a proposal was coming. We had never even looked at rings together!
We bundle up and get the dogs and head to town. We walk for about a half an hour along the beautiful bay- me doing almost all the talking, thinking maybe TJ was very hungover and that was why he was so quiet. At one point, I asked if he wanted to turn around, and he said sure, but lets take the dogs down to the water to see if they are thirsty/wanna play. We were standing at the waters edge, and I turned to walk back. TJ said ?wait, I have a question? and I turned around to say WHAT?! and saw he was down on one knee. I think at that point my jaw fell open and I dropped my coffee. I *THINK* he asked if I would be his bride?.I stared and said ohmygosh ohmygosh ohmygosh?..he asked if I would marry him?.I started and said is this real, is this for real, are you serious are you serious?and he said yes! WHATS YOUR ANSWER!
Of course, you know now I said yes! So, the one (maybe ONLY) time we ever took our dogs for a walk along the bay
Now, time to talk about the important things!! We picked our date- July 9th!!-, we have asked (almost) everyone in our wedding party to be a part of the big day, and I bought my dress. Hehe. I think I called to make an appointment at the dress shop the Monday after we got engaged!!
It was the second dress I tried on, and everything they say about finding your wedding dress is true. I didn?t want to take it off, it was so comfortable, and it just FELT LIKE ME. So, NO sneak peaks, but I can show you 3 dresses I would have loved had I not already tried on *THE ONE* Morgan by Priscilla of Boston, the Vineyard collection. So sweet and effotless. LOVE the bow around the waist. And, hello, POCKETS!?!!! C166 from Allure bridal. This baby has it all! One shoulder for support; ultra flattering sweetheart top; super unique fun textured bottom. If you don?t want a typical princess wedding gown, this is perfect! Jasmine Collection style T383. So, you decide you DO want a princess gown, but you still want it to be unique? This is it! The beautiful full tulle bottom has a gorgeous floral cutout overlay with tiny rhinestones all over. The belt comes in ANY color you want, as do the flowers, which are affixed with safety pins so you can place them whereever you like! I tried this on for my mom, and it was her pick for me.
Sorry to say, though, I vetoed her choice and went with my gut. But the good news is, you all only have to wait 7 months to find out what I chose!!
The other question I have had to prepare an answer for is ?what are your colors!?. Right now, I am LOVING yellow and gray- I am hoping for an outdoor ceremony & reception, with a modern feel, yet still embracing our country living roots. Here are some pictures I have been using for inspiration-
Wedding chit chat for next week: band vs DJ, wedding party wear, and how to create a budget (oy. not excited about having to do that!!). related searches : Wedding
