It's not news that you can use beer in pastry. But baking a cake in which the main ingredient is beer is a quirky but winning bet !

In a pot, put the butter and the beer and melt it together, until it boils. Then let it cool down.
In a bowl, mix all dry ingredients : flour, sugar, cocoa, and baking powder.
In another bowl, mix together the cream, the eggs and the vanilla.
Add to this the beer + butter mix. Make sure it's cold enough, so the eggs won't cook.
Then, add gradually the dry ingredients.
Bake for 40 minutes at 360°F (180°C)
Unmould and sprinkle some icing sugar on it once it's cold. There you are !
